![]() Rating: - good tv with a few major problemsI just purchased this Philips 20" flat screen television. I recently purchased a Samsung 20" flat screen, but I had to return it due to an annoying buzzing sound that came from the back of the set. I read many reviews of 20" flat screen tvs, and Samsung, Toshiba, and JVC all had the same problem - a buzzing sound. I decided to try the Philips, because I read many good reviews about this set. But, I had the same problem of the annoying buzzing sound coming from the back of this television. It's quite loud and does interfere with the viewing of shows or movies, even with the volume turned up. Another problem I had with this Philips tv is that I could not adjust the tilt. The picture was really crooked, and there are no adjustments to fix tilt. I really liked the remote, and the picture quality was great. It's a really good set, but I couldn't take the annoying buzz and the crooked picture. Rating: - Very good TV for the price. So I had a Philips Magnavox 19" SmartTV. It's about 4 yrs old and it was in tip top shape. The only reason I got rid of it is because my brother needed one. So I see this thing and know immediately it's the TV for me. I play Nintendo GameCube alot so the S-Video input come in handy, however, the speakers are so good that the screen 'jiggles' during loud sounds in a game. That is the only draw back to this TV. This thing has it all and more. You can store up to 40 channels on the remote and you can connect a DVD player and a videogame system into the back of the TV. The flat screen really diminishes glare while making the picture very sharp. If you're going to college, impress your buds with this set. You don't need a BIG TV, you need a GOOD TV. This one is it, despite the speakers being too good. Rating: - The Product is DefectiveI've just found that the S-Video and the Audio/Video Input ports of this item are just defective; I tried to connect my panasonic DVD player to the TV, but this TV just couldn't read any signal. So I called the Philips technical support, and they only suggested me to return this to Target. This is really annoying because the TV is too bulky and heavy for me to carry around. I would say that Philips just doesn't have a good quality control because I had electronics from Sony and Panasonic, and they didn't show any defects like this. Since it doesn't work at all, I wouldn't recommend you buy this item unless you're really concerned about the price. I would rather stick to a dependable brand to save my time on returning items.
