I buy RCA television sets mainly because I feel that RCA tvs have better true to life colors than other brands. Peoples' skin color should look like real life skin color and clothes colors shouldn't be exagerrated. At first, this tv has a bit too powerful colors. After a few days though, the colors seem to settle down better. It's a pretty good televison for the price. This tv is a nice upgrade from my old RCA proscan since this one has component inputs and my old tv didn't. The only bad thing i've noticed is that sometimes I see a few wavy lines on the sides of my tv screen but it's barely noticeable and noticeable sometimes only. When watching dvds or certain tv programs for example, I can notice these strange motionless wavy lines on the screen stretching from the end of the side of the screen to approximately 4 inches towards the center of the screen. The wavy lines are barely noticeable and it's really no big deal. One thing that's of major concern though is the product manual. The manual for this tv is the poorest quality manual i've ever seen but that's not the problem. The real problem is that this manual has no technical information at all for the television set. For example, if you wanted to know what's the exact resolution of this tv then you have no way of finding out. If you try calling customer service to get the answer, you'll quickly find out that their answers are designed to get rid of you instead of helping you. Even after 3 tries of calling customer service, I failed to get the answer to the question of the resolution of this tv. My only resort was to complain about this situation to the Better Business Bureau and to send Thomson Inc. (RCAs parent company) a letter of dissatisfaction demanding technical information for this tv. My reason for complaining to the Better Business Bureau (which can be easily done at bbb.com or BetterBusinessBureau.com) is that I feel they're trying to hide the information I need. When you have to go through the trouble of writing to a company to have to whip them to get simple technical information, you know there's something strange going on there. In my opinion, RCA isn't the same company that it was when I purchased my last RCA television Proscan model tv about 8 years ago.
